Counselling and Psychotherapy

I believe Counselling can benefit everyone, no matter your age or stage in life. Life inevitably brings it’s challenges, whether you are struggling with trauma experienced during your life, or are struggling with an ongoing situation, Counselling can help.  If you are feeling anxious, depressed, low, stressed or just not quite your usual self, having a  space to talk through everything can lead to a deeper understanding and is beneficial for you mental wellbeing.

I am an Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, which means I integrate different therapeutic models into my practice. The foundation of my therapeutic work derives from Person Centred therapy. Person Centred therapy considers that the relationship between the counsellor and client is key, and can provide the environment needed for client growth to occur. This means that it is vital you feel comfortable with your Counsellor, I offer a free initial phone call where we can talk through your needs and you can decide if I am the right Counsellor for you.

The sessions are led by you, it is your time to explore whatever you need to in a safe, confidential, non-judgemental and understanding space. As an Integrative Counsellor I also utilise elements of Systemic and Attachment theory, which can help you understand the impact of your family relationships and the environment you grew up in, and the dynamics of ongoing relationships on your life. Elements of CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) can also be introduced, these can be beneficial when working with negative thoughts and exploring the link between thoughts, actions and behaviours.

Please get in touch via phone or email if you would like to book a free initial phone call to discuss Counselling further.
